WARSAW: Polsat, a leading Polish private broadcaster, received a license for Polsat World, a channel for Poles living abroad.

The National Broadcasting Chamber gave Polsat a satellite license for Polsat World, which will replace Polsat 2 International, currently available in the USA, Australia and New Zealand. The new channel will be available in more territories outside Poland and will have a new lineup.

"Polsat World will be launched in the third or fourth quarter of 2015 and it will also be available in Poland in a modified version. We are also planning to launch a new film channel, Polsat Film 2", Maciej Stec, Polsat Television’s board member, told FNE.

Polsat Television now has 21 channels in its portfolio. TVN Group also provides a special channel for Poles living abroad, TVN International, which is not available in Poland. The company plans to launch a second international channel, TVN International Extra, in 2015.
