    WARSAW: After racking up the best opening weekend for a Polish film in 30 years with 655,000 admissions, the Polish Christmas comedy Letters to Santa 2 has climbed to 1,901,000 admissions making the TVN production the top box office hit in Poland.

    Letters to Santa 2 knocked 50 Shades of Grey out of the number 1 box office spot in Poland, which it held for the last nine months.

    The distributor of the film Kino Świat informed FNE that in just three weeks from the premiere on 13 November 2015, Letters to Santa 2 is in the number four overall position on the list of the most watched Polish comedies in the last 25 years. Leading the list is the original franchise film Letters to Santa with 2,560,000 admissions (also produced by TVN), followed by Lejdis with 2,530,000 admissions (produced by Van Worden) and Killer with 2,200,000 admissions (ZEBRA Film Studio).

    Letters to Santa 2, directed by Maciej Dejczar and produced by TVN as a sequel to the 2011 box office hit, was shot between February and April of 2015. The second part of the comedy brought back an all-star cast of popular Polish actors including Agnieszka Dygant, Roma Gąsiorowska, Katarzyna Zielińska, Piotr Adamczyk, Tomasz Karolak, Wojciech Malajkat, Maciej Stuhr and Małgorzata Kożuchowska.
