WARSAW: Jacek Borcuch is currently shooting his new drama Volterra, starring the famous Polish actress Krystyna Janda. The shooting takes place in Tuscany, Italy.

Krystyna Janda will embody the character of a fictional Nobel Prize winning Polish poet. "It's a story about modern Europe, taking place in the Tuscan province city Volterra. I want to tell a story about the fear of 'the other' experienced in Europe", says Jacek Borcuch. The script is co-written by Borcuch together with the accomplished Polish writer Szczepan Twardoch.

The cast includes Katarzyna Smutniak, Antonio Catania, Lorenzo de Moor, Vincent Riotta and Robin Renucci.

The film is a 100% Polish coproduction produced by No Sugar Films in coproduction with Tank Production, Motion Group and Aeroplan. The planned budget is 1.6 m EUR.

The shoot launched on 4 April 2018 in Tuscany.

Jacek Borcuch had a major success with All That I Love (produced by Prasa&Film), which was selected for the Main Competition of the 2010 Sundance IFF and was the Polish candidate for an Oscar nomination for Best Foreign Film in 2010.
