The 2015 edition of the EAVE Producers Workshop takes off in Luxembourg

As every year, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg is the home base for the first session of the EAVE Producers Workshop, organized in partnership with the Film Fund Luxembourg during March 9 – 16 at the Légère Premium Hotel Luxembourg.

Out of some 170 applications from 45 countries, we selected 52 up-and-coming producers from 31 countries with 33 documentary and feature projects to be developed throughout the year.

Workshop 1’s pedagogical team is composed of EAVE Head of Studies Jani Thiltges (Samsa Film, LU), the four group leaders (all active, experienced producers), Roshanak Behesht Nedjad (Flying Moon, DE), Lise Lense-Møller (Magic Hour Films, DK),Riina Sildos (Amrion, EE) and Patrick Sobelman (Agat Films & Cie / Ex Nihilo, FR); the script consultants Clare Downs (UK), Jacques Akchoti (FR), Martin Daniel (USA), and documentary expert Sylvia Stevens (Faction Films, UK). They are joined by the EAVE specialized experts - for Pitching: Sibylle Kurz (DE), Finance and Company Planning: Linda Beath (Ideal Filmworks, IT) and Legal Issues: Katrine Schlüter Schierbeck (Johan Schlüter law firm, DK), who share their expertise in plenary and group work sessions and individual meetings with the EAVE participants.

Special sessions complement the workshop schedule:

Oscar® winner IDA by Pawel Pawlikowski will be the focus of EAVE script consultant Clare Downs’ script analysis.

Guest expert Paul Tyler (Handling Ideas, DK) will show the participants how to transform an idea into a concept using a simple toolbox that allows filmmakers to develop stories and formats.

In special group sessions, guest expert and EAVE graduate David Grumbach (BAC Films, FR) will analyse the selected projects to explore tools and opportunities for co-production.

Danish producer and EAVE group leader Lise Lense-Møller will devote her plenary session to the specific questions related to the development of documentaries.

There will also be time to network with local professionals and to explore co-production opportunities with Luxembourg during a visit to the Filmland Studios where the participants have the chance to meet representatives of the local film industry.

All plenary sessions are open for interested local professionals. For the detailed programme, please contact Workshop Manager Satu Elo This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
