Peter Badač, the director of the Slovak Audiovisual Fund, was on 4 August 2023 dismissed by the board of the Audiovisual Fund after six months in office due to repeated violations of the Fund's law and serious breaches of ethical rules in communication with the Fund's employees.
The dismissal of Peter Badač was supported by six out of the eight present members of the nine-member board of the Fund.
Simultaneously, the Board of the Audiovisual Fund elected Vincent Štofaník as its chairman. In accordance with the provisions of the Fund's law, he has taken over the management of the Fund until the appointment of a new director. The selection process for this position will be announced by the board in the coming days.
