NICOSIA: The Cyprus News Agency (CAN) reports that a new Cyprus company, Screentale, has signed an agreement with Robert De Niro’s company Tribeca Enterprises NY.

The 22nd Jihlava IDFF, running 25 - 30 October 2018, is the Czech film industry's opportunity to celebrate their prolific documentary output in the Czech Joy national competition.

DIAGNOSIS, a film about the subconscious of a city, directed by Ewa Podgórska, has been selected to the Competition during one of the biggest and most prestigious documentary film festivals in the world IDFA. The producer of the film is Małgorzata Wabińska (Entertain Pictures).

BRUSSELS: A petition with 21,000 signatories supporting the right to a fair and proportionate remuneration for Europe’s screenwriters and directors was delivered to Mariya Gabriel, EU Commissioner for Digital Society and Economy, on 23 October 2018.

BERLIN: The animated film Another Day of Life, a Polish/Spanish/German/Hungarian coproduction directed by Raul de la Fuente and Damian Nenow, is one of the four nominees in the European Animated Feature category of the European Film Awards, which will take place on 15 December 2018 in Seville.

Now in its third year, the Riga International Film festival (RIGA IFF) pitching FORUM  for children's and youth film projects took place from October 18 -19 in the Baltic capital.

STRASBOURG: Eurimages decided to fund 12 fiction films, two documentaries and two animation films with 5,201,000 EUR at its October 2018 meeting in Sofia. Films from CEE territories had a lighter presence, but two of the projects are coproductions involving Serbia and Bulgaria.

RIGA: The third edition of the Riga International Film Festival's pitching FORUM for children's and youth film projects, which took place 18 – 19 October 2018, awarded two films from Central Europe.
