At the same time that Wojciech Smarzoewski in post-production with his untitled feature drama on the same topic produced by Filmit.

Konopka has worked with Se-Ma-For on several of its most prominent projects and is most recognized for his work on Underlife and a hit Polish animated series Flapper & Friends.

In 2011 the project received development support from the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. The planned budget of the film is 350,000 PLN. The film is being created with the use of puppets made for another Se-Ma-For film entitled Underlife also directed by Konopka.

“The story is inspired by events from the WWII history and the stories of the few people who ‘survived’ their own deaths coming suddenly from the hands of people they knew, who were their neighbors. The story was influenced by events now known as pogroms and massacres of the people living in Volhynia, Belarus and Jedwabne. Everywhere they had one characteristic element in common: the burning, wooden stakes, the buildings and barns full of people,” the director told FNE.

The premiere of the picture is planned for autumn of 2015.
