CANNES: Polish producer/director/screenwriter Dariusz Jabłoński has been appointed Vice President of the European Producers Club, with over 70 of the leading producers representing more than 20 European countries.

Jabłoński is president of Apple Film Production, president of the Polish Film Academy and a member of the European Film Academy.

The European Producers Club elected its new board of directors at a meeting in Cannes. The new board includes Marco Chimenez, President (Italy), and Vice Presidents Johannes Rexin (Germany), Yves Marmion (France) and Nina Lauro (Finland). The EFC also functions as a think tank and represents independent producers’ goals to key international institutions where the audio-visual industry regulations are made, and is an official consultant to the European Union in matters concerning the film industry.

Jabłoński established Apple Film Production 25 years ago as one of the first independent production companies in Poland and the CEE region. It produces film and TV projects, and was one of the first independent CEE companies to lead the way in international coproductions.
