BUCHAREST: New projects from Cristian Mungiu, Cristi Puiu, Corneliu Porumboiu, Radu Jude and Peter Greenaway are among the winners of the funding contest for 2013 announced by the National Centre for Cinema on 9 April 2014.
The production grants went to 16 feature films, 12 short films, seven debut features, seven long and short animated films, and 10 long and short documentaries. Another seven projects received development grants. Of all the projects, 16 are international coproductions.
Cristian Mungiu received almost 1mEUR for his new feature, RMN, a premiere in the Romanian grants history.
