    BUCHAREST: The Romanian/Bulgarian coproduction Men of Deeds / Oameni de treabă by Paul Negoescu received the Best Long Film Award at the 17th edition of the Gopo Awards held at the “I.L. CARAGIALE” National Theatre in Bucharest on 25 April 2023. The film also won in the director, actor, supporting actor, script and editing categories.

    Metronom by Alexandru Belc, which had the most nominations (11), was awarded in the cinematography, costumes, make-up and hair styling, and production design categories.

    Approximately 650 Romanian film professionals voted on the awards.

    Cristian Mungiu, who produced and directed R.M.N., didn’t submit his film to the nominations.

    Gopo Awards were organised by Romanian Film Promotion. They were funded by the Romanian Ministry of Culture, supported by the Romanian Film CentreDacin Sara and Babel Communications, in partnership with the Municipality of Bucharest through ARCUB, the Sector 5 City Hall through the „Ștefan Iordache” Cultural Youth Centre and the “I.L. CARAGIALE” National Theatre in Bucharest.
