FESTIVALS: Eva Nová Wins Best Feature Film at The Sun in a Net

    BRATISLAVA: Eva Nová directed by Marko Škop won five awards, including Best Film, at the Sun in a Net Awards.

    The film was also awarded for Best Director, Best Script, Best Actress and Best Actor. Special Honorary Awards went to the director Juraj Jakubisko and the director of photography Igor Luther.

    The Sun in a Net awards, which are the Slovak equivalent of the Oscars, is a bi-annual event organised by the Slovak Film and Television Academy (SFTA) together with RTVS and the Slovak National Theatre.

    The event was supported by the Slovak Audiovisual Fund, Slovak Film Institute, Slovenská pošta and Lita.

    The ceremony took place at the Slovak National Theatre on Saturday 16 April 2016 as a highlight of the showcase for domestic production - the Slovak Film Week.
