PRODUCTION: Polsat to Shoot BBC Adaptation BBC drama series Prisoner's Wives

WARSAW: Private broadcaster Polsat will produce Skazane / Convicted, a Polish version of BBC drama series Prisoner's Wives

Polsat informed FNE that the shooting for the first 13 episodes season of the series is planned for September 2015. The series will follow four different women, each struggling to cope with her man being in prison. The original British series, created by Julie Gearey, premiered on BBC One in January 2012.

The director and screenwriter of the Polish version of the drama have not yet been revealed. The cast will include Monika Krzywkowska, Olga Bołądź and Ireneusz Czop.

"This is a quite realistic show, talking with the problem of women waiting for men who are not getting back anytime soon. A question appears: is it possible to wait for them? Our working title Convicted seems very appropriate to the situation that our protagonists are in", says Monika Krzywkowska.
