By Iulia Blaga

{mosimage}BUCHAREST: A cinematic adaptation of Fiona Campbell's bestseller Death of a Salaryman is in early development at the London based company Vernon Films with two time BAFTA winning director Adrian Sitaru and a budget of GBP 4 m.

The film is thought to be "a commercially viable star vehicle" by the company Vernon Films (www.vernonfilms.co.uk) which is coproducing together with the Romanian 4Proof Film (www.4prooffilm.ro).

The main character of the book is a Japanese salaryman who loses his job at a TV corporation on his 40th birthday and eventually slips through different layers of society, meeting a lot of interesting people who make him die as an old person and only to be re-born as a new human being.

No first draft is yet written, so the dates of shooting are not yet in sight.
