BUCHAREST: Andrei Creţulescu, whose short film Ramona premieres in the Critics’ Week section in Cannes on 19 May 2015, is preparing his debut feature, Charlton Heston, set for shooting in fall 2015.

The project, which is now casting and location scouting, tells the story of a man who is visited by his wife’s lover three weeks after his wife’s death. The lover asks for help and closure. Creţulescu wrote the script. The first actor confirmed is Şerban Pavlu (Everybody In Our Family/Toată lumea din familia noastră, HiFilm Production).

Velvet Moraru is producing through Icon Production with France’s Alia Films and Germany’s Geppert Productions as potential coproducers. Creţulescu is coproducing through Kinosseur.

The budget is 600,000 EUR with 250,000 EUR already in place, Velvet Moraru told FNE. The project received a debut feature production grant of approximately 127,000 EUR/566,000 RON from the National Film Center in April 2014.

There will be 24 shooting days on location in September-October 2015, executive producer Codruta Creţulescu told FNE. The film is set to be finished in spring 2016.
