The non-competitive festival opened with Goran Markovic’s The Tour / Turneja (2008, A Atalanta, Balkan Film, Testament Film) and wrapped with the screening of The Brides (2004) by Pantelis Voulgaris. The programme included Vinko Bresan’s hit Priest’s Children (2013, Interfilm), Yilmaz Guney’s The Road / Yol (1982, Guney, Cactus Films, Maram Film), the Romanian drama Picture Postcards with Wild Flowers / Ilustrate cu flori de câmp (1975, Casa de filme 3) by Andrei Blaier, and also documentaries, short films and animated films for children.

The programme included a symposium chaired by Lydia Papadimitriou from John Moores University in Liverpool, food tasting and music concerts.

Divan Film Festival was initiated by the Romanian poet Mircea Dinescu and is organized by the Mircea Dinescu Poetry Foundation in partnership with Craiova City Hall and Craiova European Cultural Capital 2012, with the support of Craiova County Council, National Film Center (CNC), Romanian Filmmakers Union and Romanian Cultural Institute.
