BRATISLAVA: Slovak director Viera Čákanyová is finishing postproduction on her documentary essay Notes from Eremocene / Poznámky z Eremocénu. The film is a Slovak/Czech coproduction.

PIEŠŤANY: Nine feature films have been selected under the auspices of FIPRESCI for Meeting Point Europe, the main competition of the 17th IFF Cinematik Piešťany. The festival will take place in the spa city of Piešťany from 13 to 18 September 2022.

BRATISLAVA: Slovak director Tomáš Krupa has started production on his creative documentary We Have to Survive / Musíme prežiť. The Slovak/French/Austrian coproduction captures stories about climatic change impacts from four different corners of the world, while keeping the lowest possible Carbon footprint.

BRATISLAVA: Slovak director Robert Kirchhoff is currently in postproduction with his creative documentary All Men Become Brothers / Všetci ľudia budú bratia. The film is produced by Kirchhoff´s atelier.doc and coproduced by the Radio and Television Slovakia, endorfilm (Czech Republic) and the Czech Television.

BRATISLAVA: In 2021, Slovakia was more focused on collaboration with foreign production companies, in particular with Czech companies, and 57% of all films were minority coproductions, according to a report issued by Creative Europe Desk Slovakia.

BRATISLAVA: The mystery crime TV series Hunter / Lovec by Jiří Strach is getting ready for production. The total of eight episodes are produced by Slovak TRIGON PRODUCTION in coproduction with Slovakia‘s TV JOJ and the Czech Television.

PRAGUE: Up to nine Czech titles are on the list of the top 20 most popular films in Czech cinemas after the weekend of 2–5 June 2022. In Slovakia, two domestic titles and five Czech films were also placed in the top 20.
