PRAGUE: Tomáš Weinreb and Petr Kazda, authors of the critically acclaimed I, Olga Hepnarova, are developing the love story Nobody Likes Me / Nikdo mě nemá rád. This Czech/French coproduction was selected for the upcoming Berlinale Co-production Market 2018.

The film tells the story of Sara, an attractive 29-year-old single woman, who works at the army headquarters in Prague. While constantly surrounded by strong young men, she has not found a partner yet. When she meets the gallant and graceful Martin, she is fascinated by fim, but when she wants to take their relationship to a deeper and physical level, Martin shies away. He is hiding a deep secret.

"It is difficult to avoid clichés when creating a love story, yet Nobody Likes Me sets out to do just that. We are interested in female main characters like the title character in our debut film, I, Olga Hepnarova. Like Olga, Sara is looking for love, yet her relationship with Martin is based on mutual respect”, Tomáš Weinreb told FNE.

The film is again produced by Czech production companies Black Balance and love.Frame, as well as France’s Arizona Productions and the postproduction studio Spoon and Bontonfilm from the Czech Republic. Negotiations with Slovakia´s Arina are underway.

The film´s development is supported by the Czech Film Fund. The total budget is 1,3m EUR.
