MOTOVUN: As of this year, short films that win the Propeller of Motovun Award will gain a nomination candidacy for the European Film Academy short film award. The 22^nd Motovun Film Festival started with My Last Day as a Loser, a debut feature film of Urša Menart, on 22 July 2019.

ZAGREB: After months of controversy, Kino Europa (Cinema Europe) has closed. On 28 June 2019, leaders of the Zagreb Film Festival (ZFF), who managed the cinema, confirmed that they will return the keys of Kino Europa to the City of Zagreb.

RIJEKA: Newspapers, the first Croatian TV series sold to Netfilx, is currently filming its third and final season at 50 locations along the Adriatic coast. The series is directed by Dalibor Matanić, who won the Un Certain Regard Jury Prize in Cannes in 2015 for his Croatian/Serbian/Slovenian war drama The High Sun (Kinorama, SEE Film Pro and Gustav Film).

ZAGREB: The eighth and final season of the British action-adventure TV series Strike Back is filming in Croatia, following Game of Thrones, McMafia, The Terror and other well-known TV series, whose producers have taken advantage of the country's cash rebates and attractive filming locations.

ZAGREB: The City of Zagreb has established the Zagreb Film Office to provide comprehensive services to film productions in the Croatian capital.
