KRAKOW: The 61st edition of the Krakow Film Festival is set to take place in a hybrid form on 30 May - 6 June 2021, after a successful online edition in 2020.

WARSAW: Roman Polański teams up with Jerzy Skolimowski almost 60 years after Knife in the Water (1962) for The Palace, which will be produced by Italy’s RAI Cinema and Eliseo Entertainment. Shooting is set to start in the autumn of 2021.

WARSAW: The Polish government will allow open-air cinemas to reopen rom 15 May and all cinemas to be opened on 29 May 2021 with a capacity of up to 50% for both.

WARSAW: Netflix has announced the production of three new Polish original series and premieres of three Polish films in 2022.

WARSAW: Producers of the British reality show I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here! are in negotiations to secure a Polish castle for shooting international versions of the hit reality show, according to British media reports.

WARSAW: The Polish Government has announced that cinemas in the Mazowieckie and Lubuskie regions will be closed again on 15 March 2021, along with theatres, hotels and restaurants. The same restrictions were introduced in the Pomeranian region on 13 March 2021.

WARSAW: Paweł Maślona, director of the award-winning Panic Attack, is in development with a film about the Polish war hero Tadeusz Kościuszko, under the working title Scarborn.

WARSAW: The Indian/Polish thriller directed Vikash Verma has entered the post production stage. While servicing Indian productions shooting in Poland as well as across central and eastern Europe has become an important part of the production services industry this is the first coproduction between the two countries. The film will be released in Polish in Poland and in Hindi in India.
