Seven projects in development with co-production potential from Czech Republic and Slovakia will be looking for new partners at Karlovy Vary IFF

    Prague, June 18 2013 – After the successful launch of Pitch & Feedback at Karlovy Vary IFF in 2012, this year´s presentations of projects in development with a potential for international co-productions will take place on 2 July, between 10 am and 1 pm in the Becher’s Villa, Krále Jiřího 9, Karlovy Vary. Altogether seven projects from Czech Republic and Slovakia will receive professional feedback by experts from the international film industry. The goal is to create an effective platform for the selected projects and to enhance networking possibilities between the Czech and Slovak filmmakers and the international film industry attending Karlovy Vary IFF.

    Pitch & Feedback is a part of the Industry Days of Karlovy Vary IFF and is organized by the Czech Film Center, the Slovak Film Institute, the Karlovy Vary IFF, with support of the Barrandov Studios, Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic, Slovak Audiovisual Fund, MEDIA Desk Czech Republic and Midpoint.

     This year´s international experts include: UK based producer Mike Downey (F&ME), Loïc Magneron, managing director of Wide Management, Brigitta Manthey, fund advisor of Medienboard Berlin Brandenburg, Riina Sildos, managing director of the co-production market Baltic Event and Matthieu Darras, the head of studies of the TorinoFilmLab. As one of the five international experts giving professional feedback to potential co-production projects-in-development from Czech Republic and Slovakia, Riina Sildos concluded: “Karlovy Vary has always been one of my favourite festivals due to very good programming and also industry facilities. Works-in-Progress section has been running for several years already and has proved itself as a very good tool. I am very happy that you now have a platform for promoting Czech and Slovak new production, which is a solid step to future co-production and sales.” A new collaboration between Pitch & Feedback and Baltic Event will also start this year: one project will automatically be selected to be presented at Baltic Event.     The selected projects in development in 2013 include: RED CAPTAIN (producer: Michal Kollár, SK), RUNNING HEAD (producer: Peter Kelíšek / Beetle Production, SK), OUT in co-operation with Midpoint (producer: Marek Urban / Sentimental Film, SK ), FIFTH BOAT(producers: Jiří Konečný / Endorfilm, CZ, Iveta Grófová / Hulapa film, SK), LIPS TULIAN (producer: Veronika Finková / Film and Roll, CZ),THE UNLOVED (producer: Tomáš Bělohradský / Czech Film, CZ) a LITTLE CRUSADER (producer: Alice Tabery / Václav Kadrnka, CZ).
