BIAFF 2013 - “Georgian-Turkish Co-production Panel“

    Batumi 8th International Art-House Film Festival (BIAFF) will take place during 15-22 September 2013. BIAFF was established in 2006. The founder and organizer – Batumi Art-House “ARGANI”, official partner – Batumi City Hall.

    During 2011-2012 through support of Georgian National film Centre was organized “BIAFF INDUSTRRY MEETING” in which participated European film Academy, fund of H. Balls (Rotterdam film festival), EAVE, film institute of Poland, A. Wajda School, Polish and Turkish cinema industry people.

    BIAFF 2013 - “Georgian-Turkish Co-production Panel“ will take place during 19-20 September. During these days will be organized meetings between producers/directors from Georgia and Turkey. Meeting will by attended also by the representatives of Georgina National Film Center (GNFC), Istanbul International Film Festival, Ministry of Education, Culture and sports of autonomous republic of Adjara (presenting “Regional Film fund of Adjara”), Ministry of Culture of Turkey etc.

    Major goal of “Georgian-Turkish Co-production Meeting“is to improve cooperation and networking of Turkish producers with Georgian directors and producers with the purpose of making joint film projects.The participants can make familiar with film production financing, co-production process in Turkey and Georgia, financial remedies, co-production opportunities, determine perspectives of future cooperation and share practice in European co-production. also will be summarized opinions of participants about future meetings and additional components (ex: pitching).

    BIAFF management is planning to have annual Georgian-Turkish co-production meetings and to attract supporters/funds from to support the development of this platform (can be added “works in progress” for film projects), which will improve effective co-operation and co-production between two countries.

    The meetings is organized in cooperation with Istanbul Film Festival and through support of Georgian National Film Center.
