Guest of the Festival - Thierry Frémaux together with the Lumière brothers.

This edition of IFFP REGIOFUN is dedicated to the memory of the Lumière brothers who 118 years ago, in 1895, gave the world the very first public film show, and

charged the viewers with only 1 Franc.

On this occasion, for the first time in Poland, we are going to present 93 restored, and digitally reconstructed films by theLumière brothers. Films that were carefully selected from among one thousand titles. The movies are going to be accompanied by a live commentary by Thierry Frémauxhimself - director of The Lumière Institute and Cannes Film Festival. The show is going to take place on 23rd October, at 8:30 PM.

Also on 25th October, in Katowice, during the 4th IFFP REGIOFUN again we are organizing a branch conference during which we are going to discuss the most bothering problems and issues of the film industry.

The organisers of the 4th International Festival of Film Producers Regiofun this year are focusing on viewers, and the technologies that involve them. The conference is going to touch the topics that are strictly connected with the watchword Viewer / Play/s / Cinema. The whole day is going to be dedicated to intense conversations and lectures.

The four thematic blocks will be devoted to the topics of crowdfunding, transmedia storytelling, trends in distribution, today’s film audience, and the specificity of movies for children. The discussion will involve the participation of producers, filmmakers, journalists and representatives of institutions supporting cinematography.

Aneta Kopacz and Artur Wyrzykowski - the pioneers on the Polish market, are going to share their experience with social financing. Robert Pratten from Transmedia Storyteller, as a specialist in this type of narration is going to share his knowledge, and present an innovative model of working on scenarios. During the discussion “Viewer in the network. Fight Club or ecosystem? Diagnosis and forecasts” a group of prominent film makers, and representatives of other branches, are going to discuss the changes in the film audience. The representatives of the operators of various fields of exploitation are going to speak about the trends in distribution, as well as the risks and chances connected with them. The final block is going to be dedicated to films for children. The purpose of the discussion is to answer the question “Whether (and why) producers are afraid to make films for children?”; the answers will be sought by Adam Ptak (SE-MA-FOR), Dominika OSAK (Badi Badi), Marc Boothe (B3 Media), and Viola Gabrieli (KidsRegio).
