FESTIVALS: Application Open for First Edition of Svaneti International Film Festival

    Announcement (brief about the festival, dates)

    The first annual Svaneti International Film Festival will open on August 25th, 2021, in Svaneti, Mestia, Georgia (Recognized UNESCO World Heritage Site).

    The festival is supported by General Sponsor Hotel GISTOLA in Mestia, Georgian National Film Center, Bank of Georgia, Teliani Valley, Badagi, All Print  and Mestia Municipality.

    The film festival is organized by director Mariam Khatchvani and Teimuraz Chkhvimiani.

    Mariam Khachvani became known in the world of cinema as the author of Dinola and Dede. Her films tell about the strict traditions of Svaneti. In his works, Khachvani tries to show the viewer to love the true spirit of the native shoulder and the mountain nature.

    SIFF

    SIFF will become an integral part of the world film festivals. The first edition will be presented –Short Film Competition, Master classes, Pitching forums and Special screenings.

    Svaneti International Film Festival prides itself on providing an opportunity for talented directors, producers and writers from all over the world to learn and showcase their work together in an exciting international environment.

    Svaneti International Film Festival announces a short film competition.
    Terms of participation in the competition:
    The competition is open to both professional directors.
    Deadline for film registration is July 20th, 2021.

    The max length of the film should be 30 minutes (with English titles).
    The competition will include short films of any genre, including animated and documentary films.
    The winner will be awarded a unique prize of the SIFF - Goddess Dali.
    The short film Jury: The head of Jury –Paolo Bertolin, Jury- Ana Urushadze , Levan Koghuashvil.
    Online Master classes will be conducting: Paolo Bertolin, Christophe Leparc.
    Georgian producer Vladimer Katcharava and Georgian director Levan Kokguahsvili will also conduct Master classes at Svaneti International Film Festival in Mestia.
    Pitching forum will be conducting: Vladimer Katcharava. The deadline for the feature length project submission is 25 July. This year for the pitching Georgian projects are eligible.
