The award was given by Anna Szadkowska from the Audiovisual Technology Center.

Sardegna Film Commission – Explore Sardegna Pitching Award worth EUR 3.000 – was given to a Belgian project “Anna’s World” co-created by Celine Vanhoutte, Tijs Torfs, produced by Katleen Goossens from Bulletproof Cupid. The project was developed within Kids Kino Lab, script development workshop under the supervision of Kirsten Bonnén Rask. The project was chosen by Nevina Satta from Sardegna Film Commission and handed in by Emanuele Nespeca.

“Anna’s World” is a documentary series. Each 22’ episode follows 24 hours in the life of Anna, the main character, a 10-year-old girl. Breakfast, going to school, lessons, break, homework, dinner, going to bed. We travel around the world and experience a typical day, but change continents and countries. The only thing that doesn’t change is her name: she’s Anna in Belgium, Japan, Kenya, Iran, Cuba and New Zealand. Through Anna’s eyes, we get to know her world, expose cultural differences, see what we can learn from each other and explore universal themes such as love, climate change, traditions, gender, mourning and religion.

“Anna’s World” creators were also invited to pitch their project at the M:brane forum.

Lennart Ström, the Director of M:brane couldn’t be in Warsaw but he connected with us on Zoom to announce his decision and pass the award to the creators of “Anna’s World”.

CEE Animation award was given to a German project “My Name is…”, produced by Eliza Płocieniak-Alvarez and Carol Ratajczak from Blaue Pampelmuse. The award was given by Martin Vandas. The award includes an accreditation for two members of the team and the opportunity to present their project in the “out of competition” category.

“My name is…” is a humorous preschool series that delivers the perfect starting point for learning to deal with EMOTIONS.
