What’s Slovak in Clermont-Ferrand – Central European Cinema stand

As part of the programme of the 48th edition of the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival (January 30 – February 7, 2026), two Slovak animated short films will be presented.

In the main International Competition, the film Tourists, directed by Mária Kralovič, will have its world premiere. The film was produced by Slovak producer Agata Novinski (NOVINSKI), in co-production with France (Novanima Productions) and the Czech Republic (Evolution Films).

In the retrospective section Panorama: Holidays, the film Hello Summer (dirs. Martin Smatana, Veronika Zacharová) will be screened. The film returns to the festival after its participation last year. The title was created as a Slovak–Czech–French co-production, with director Smatana also involved in production on the Slovak side (Studio Bororo).

For the eighth time, the Slovak Film Institute (SFI) will present Slovak cinema at the Central European Cinema stand (E1) at the Short Film Market (2 – 5 February, 2026), which is part of the festival. The stand is organized in cooperation between three countries – Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Slovenia. At the stand, the SFI will provide visitors with information about both majority and minority Slovak films, in person as well as in the form of a leaflet Slovak Short Films 2025–2026, and will also offer space for business meetings of Slovak film professionals.

The Slovak Film Institute will be represented at the market by:
