One World Romania is the first documentary film festival established in Bucharest, as well as the only Romanian festival dedicated to human rights. Over its first 19 editions, the festival has turned into a civic and cinematic platform, promoting documentary film as a vehicle for social and political dialogue, a window to the world, a medium that sparks reflection and forms communities.
Submissions are open until November 22, 2026, via FilmFreeway.
If your film is a feature, mid-length or short creative documentary finished after January 1, 2025, regardless of its premiere status, make sure to send it our way, to be considered for cinema screening in one of the festival sections.

Good to know: Eastern European & Global South creative documentaries will be prioritized, as a way to encourage communication between nations and the promotion of films from less privileged territories.
A representative of each selected film is invited to participate in the festival and will be offered free travel and accommodation. Our festival is focused on authentic dialogues with the filmmakers as much as on screening the films – so your presence is much valued.
