“Baltic cinema has always been an essential part of PÖFF. In our 30th-anniversary year, we want to give it an even stronger international platform and draw attention not only to our films, but also to the remarkable talent behind them,” says Triin Tramberg, the Artistic Director of PÖFF.
Priit Pärn Brings Estonia’s Beloved Kilplased to PÖFF’s Anniversary Visuals
To celebrate its 30th anniversary, Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival invited acclaimed filmmaker and artist Priit Pärn to create this year’s visual identity—the first in the festival’s history to be designed by a filmmaker.
The visuals bring Estonia’s beloved Kilplased into the world of filmmaking, with the playful characters appearing across the festival’s advertisements, decorations and other visual elements.
Pärn, a legendary figure in Estonian animation, who celebrated his 80th birthday this year, has been depicting the Kilplased since 1974.
