The seven films in competition are: A Safe Place by Cecilia Ștefănescu, Dua by Blerta Basholli, Everything as It Should Be by Bohdan Karásek, Honey Bunny by Igor Jelinović, Only Beautiful Things to Look At by Ivan Ostrochovský, Shame and Money by Visar Morina, and Tell Me What You Feel by Łukasz Ronduda.
The International Jury, which will award the CinEast 2026 Grand Prix and the Special Jury Prize, is chaired by Hungarian director Ildikó Enyedi, alongside Bulgarian director Petar Valchanov, Macedonian director Georgi Unkovski, director and producer Fabrizio Maltese, and actress and scriptwriter Jeanne Werner, the latter two representing Luxembourg on the jury.
The Press Jury, which will award the Critics’ Prize, is made up of journalists Paulo Lobo (freelance), Marko Stojiljković (Cineuropa) and Öykü Sofuoğlu (Outskirts Film Magazine/Emitaï).
The Young Talents Jury will be composed of four students of the BTS Cinéma et audiovisuel at the Lycée des Arts et Métiers: Elvin Gil Aires, Kiana Konter, Amin Licina and Mary Rodriguez Usselmann. This jury will designate the winner of the Young Talents Award among the directors of a first or second feature film belonging to the following Young Talents Competition: 17 by Kosara Mitić, Flood by Martin Gonda, I Matter by Alina Şerban, My Father’s Shoes by Hristo Simeonov and No Ghosts on Good Street by Emi Buchwald.
The Official Opening held on 14 October (19:00, Kinepolis Kirchberg) with the screening of an exceptional Opening Film – Fatherland by Paweł Pawlikowski – will be preceded by the Warm-Up Weekend from 9 to 11 October.
The 19th edition of the festival will offer Luxembourg audiences more than 120 screenings of a selection of over 65 feature films and 60 short films from 20 Central and Eastern European countries. Also on the festival programme: meetings with around 40 international guests, 6 film debates, 6 concerts, a major photography exhibition at neimënster (“Crossroads”), screenings for young audiences and a Focus on Bulgaria.
A selection of films will also be available online on our “CinEast Online Cinema”, a dedicated VOD platform (cineast.eventive.org).
