Festivals: First Polish online documentary festival

    Users of iplex.pl, the first Polish online cinema, will be able to watch over 60 documentaries free during the online festival DocBoat, launching September 4.

    Sixteen movies will compete for the Vistula River prize, an online audience award, and best documentary by a filmmaker of Polish origin.

    The festival screenings are available on the www.iplex and www.docboat.pl websites.

    The first Polish online cinema www.iplex.pl launched in February 2008 and broadened its offer with the first Video On Demand system on the Polish market.


    DocBoat/ Warsaw NONFICTON E-FEST is financed by The Warsaw Municipal Governing Office (www.um.warszawa.pl) and realized under the patronage Polish Film Institute (www.pisf.pl), The Office of Electronic Communications (www.uke.gov.pl), Amnesty International (www.amnesty.org.pl), Polish Humanitarian Organization (www.pah.org.pl), Polish Discussion Film Clubs Federation (www.pfdkf.pl), and Media Desk (www.mediadeskpoland.eu). The Polish Filmmakers Association (www.sfp.org.pl) and the U.S Diplomatic Mission to Poland ( www.poland.usembassy.gov) are also supporting this project.

    The festival screenings will be available online till the end of September 2009.
