Miranda Richardson and Nicholas Roeg will accompany “Puffball” at Eurasia Film Festival

The international gateway of the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, the 3rd International Eurasia Film Festival will host Miranda Richardson and Nicholas Roeg whilst realizing the Turkey premiere of “Puffball”, the latest feature of the legendary British director. Described by Roeg as a story “about happiness, grief, fear, loneliness, hope and love...”, “Puffball” casts Donald Sutherland, the star of Roeg’s cult film “Don’t Look Now” along with Kelly Reilly, Miranda Richardson and Rita Tishingham.

An extraordinarily gifted performer who has firmly established herself as one of Britain's greatest actresses, and proved her versatily in a number of critically acclaimed stage and screen roles, Miranda Richardson will be the guest of the festival and attend the film screening together with director Nicolas Roeg.

The creator of unforgettable classics such as “Performance”, “Walkabout”, “Don’t Look Now” and “The Witches”, Nicolas Roeg delivers a mix of spell-binding thrill and otherworldly ill-omen in his triumphant return to the screen. Fay Weldon adaptation “Puffball” is an extraordinary, lyrical, mesmerizing film; partly drama, partly comedy and partly scary movie where a woman is seized by her own fantasy, a crazed urge to give birth to a fourth child, preferably a boy. Her mother, who is a witch, supports her aging daughter’s wish. When the two countrywomen discover that another woman is pregnant and regard it as a threat to theirs, withcraft begins. A fairy-tale about sex, birth and female identity, the picture also marks Roeg’s screen reunion with Donald Sutherland in a brief yet intriguing role.
