FYROM takes Sofia pitching award

    The Nu Boyana Film Studios award for best pitching at the Sofia Meetings ‘Second Films Pitching' Programme was handed out to the project Kalabalak by Sasha Damjanovski (UK, Former Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia).

    The award consists of a cash prize of 5,000 Euro provided by Nu Boyana Film Studios www.nuboyana.com .

    The award from Vienna's Synchro Film, Video & Audio for best pitching in the ‘Plus Minus One' Programme was handed out to the project Aral by Ella Vakkasova (Uzbekistan).The award consists of post-production services in the amount of 5,000 Euro, provided by Synchro Lab, Vienna.

    The award from LVT Sofia for best pitching in the ‘Sofia Cinelinks Sarajevo' Programme. was handed out to the project Music for Strangers by Eric Nazarian (USA-Armenia). The award consists of 2,000 Euro in post-production services, provided by LVT Sofia.

    The 7th Sofia Meetings took place March 11-14, 2010, during the 14th Sofia International Film Festival (March 5-21).

    Sofia Meetings is an event that aims to promote new projects from young European filmmakers and new films from Bulgaria and the Balkan region to European film festivals, sales agents and distributors. Sofia Meetings is orientated towards professional audience (producers, directors, world sales, distributors, representatives of financing organizations and film festivals). It has two separate modules:

    Second Films Pitching is presentation of first, second and third feature film projects looking for financial support and cooperation.

    The festival's Balkan Screenings showcase of the latest Bulgarian and regional feature and short films for directors and programmers from international festivals, world sales companies and journalists.
