Hungarian TV Announces Job Cuts

    BUDAPEST: Hungarian state media will eliminate 600 jobs in TV and Radio. The move will cut an estimated HUF 3 billion on salaries, which is to go toward production.

    According to local news sources, the restructuring will affect 285 employees at Magyar TV (out of 1,315 employees) and 124 employees at Duna TV (out of 454 employees).

    An additional round of job cuts is expected in fall 2011, affecting some 400 people, including senior staff and management.
