Elle Wins Golden Globe for Best Foreign Film

    LOS ANGELES: Elle by Paul Verhoeven was awarded with the Golden Globe in the Foreign Language Film category, defeating Maren Ade’s Toni Erdmann, which was shot mainly in Romania with Hi Film Productions servicing and Ada Solomon executive producer. The 74th edition of the Golden Globes was held in Beverly Hills on 8 January 2017.

    The other nominations for the 2016 awards by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association were: Divines (France) by Uda Benyamina, Neruda (Chile) by Pablo Larraín and The Salesman (Iran, France) by Asghar Farhadi.

    After the FIPRESCI Award received in Cannes in 2016, Toni Erdmann was awarded several other prizes including Best Film, Best Director, Best Screenwriter, Best Actor and Best Actress at the at the 29th European Film Awards held in Wroclaw on 10 December 2016, and it is also the winner of the prestigious LUX Prix by the European Parliament.

    Toni Erdmann is a German/Austrian/Romanian coproduction produced by Komplizen Film in coproduction with coop 99, knm, Missing Link Films, SWR, WDR, ARTE, HiFilm Productions. It was shot mainly in Romania with HiFilm Productions servicing.
