European Authors Demand Proportionate Remuneration in EU Copyright Directive

By

STRASBOURG: Close to 100 European directors, producers and screenwriters demand ‘proportionate’ remuneration in the EU copyright directive in an open letter released on 17 January 2019.

As the trilogue negotiations on the proposed Directive on Copyright in the Digital Single Market are drawing to a conclusion, the authors believe that this is the last opportunity to effectively ensure that European authors benefit from the economic success of their works and urge Member States to support the Article -14 providing for fair and proportionate remuneration for authors and performers.
