Slovenia wins best film at second Montreal EUROfEST

    Slovenian film Short Circuits by director Janez Lapajne won the Crystal Eye award for best feature film at the second edition of the Eastern European Festival in Montrea, EUROfEST.

    Estonia's fest circuit film The Class by Imar Raag won the follow up prize.The festival ran September 19-25.

    Best documentary went to Adolf Ziska's Czech/US co-production about the famous and controversial Czech artist, Jan Saudek - Trapped by his Passions, No Hope for Rescue. A second prize went to Lithuania's Grandma and Grandpa by director Giedre Beinoriute. Polish director Marcin Sauter took home a second Special Mention for The First Day.

    Eleven fe ature films and 24 documentaries competed for the festival's three prizes.
