LUX Prize nominees announced

    Hungary, Bulgaria, Turkey, and Romania are among the countries fielding nominated films for the European Parliament's LUX Prize, with three finalists to be announced during the Venice Film Festival.

    Of the ten films in the Official Selection, the final three films will be screened for the 736 member parliament in November, with the winning film to be announced in Strasbourg on November 25.

    The ten films vying for the LUX Prize (www.lux-prize.eu) include two Hungarian co-productions: Lost Persons Area and Katalin Varga, a co-production with Romania, and the Bulgarian co-production Eastern Plays. and the Turkish co-production Pandora's Box.
