PRODUCTION: Romanian-Chinese Coproduction in Development

    BUCHAREST: Bobby Paunescu is developing the first Romanian-Chinese coproduction, The Girl Who Knew Too Much, a thriller/love story set in the fashion industry and involving a Romanian model and the Chinese owner of a world-renowned fashion brand.

    The film will be jointly produced by China Film Group Corporation (www.chinafilm.com) and Mandragora Movies (www.mandragoramovies.ro, under construction).

    Păunescu is writing the script and will also direct. He told FNE that the U.S. company he founded in Los Angeles with Jared Underwood recently, Solar, will also be involved, and that the budget is USD 20-25 million.

    Shooting is scheduled for the second half of 2012 in China, Italy, France and Romania. Pre-production is set to start in August. The premiere will be in 2014.
