    ARAD: Wild Berries by Romulus Balazs (France) Marianna Vas (Hungary) and Hedda Bednarszky (Romania) is the winner of the 12th edition of Aristoteles Workshop, the one-month documentary workshop that took place in Bata, Arad county, from 3 July to 5 August 2017.

    Wild Berries by Romulus Balazs, Marianna Vas, Hedda BednarszkyTwelve directors, DoPs and editors from Croatia, Serbia, Romania, Hungary, Finland, Iran, Israel, Italy, Lebanon, the UK and Vietnam formed four teams that pitched, shot and edited a 30 minute documentary supervised by tutors Thierry Garrel (France), Nino Kirtadze (Georgia) and John Appel (Holland).

    The winner received an award of 1,500 EUR. The other documentaries made at this edition were Ferry Tale by Michal Shanny (Israel) and Quan Nguyen Hong (Vietnam), No Body by Bahar Shoghi (Iran) and Mihnea Rareș Hanțiu (Romania), Something About Love by Jasmina Beširević (Croatia), Iulia Stoian (Romania) and Quan Nguyen Hong (Vietnam) and Monologue by Stefan Pavlovic (Olanda), Aylin Gökmen (Switzerland) and Miruna Minculescu (Romania).

    Aristoteles Workshop was established by Romanian actor Dan Nutu and Cristina Hoffman (a former member of selection committees of the Berlin and Cannes festivals). Since 2006 many of the more than 140 participants of the workshop have made documentaries that were selected and awarded at important festivals such as Cannes, Locarno, Leipzig, Nyon, IDFA Amsterdam, Namur and Montpellier.
