Romanian TV station fined

By FNE Staff
The Romanian National Audiovisual Council fined station National TV €1,200 following a violent outburst by a TV presenter.

Local reports said the presenter was hosting a January 8 call-in quiz show which had received no phone calls, and reacted by smashing a telephone and screaming at listeners to call in to the programme. The young woman was fired after the outburst.

The Council also required the station to broadcast the program after 10 pm, after family viewing hours, and gave the programme an "X" rating.
