By Iulia Blaga

Juridic TV, the first Romanian theme channel focused on legal issues will premiere in February. The channel, financed by local law firm Coltuc (www.coltuc.ro), will air 24 hours per day online, including 12 hours of live broadcasts.

The channel is an investment of 150,000 euro. The content is free of charge, since the goal of the initiators is to give people an accurate view of the juridical system in Romania. The program will comprise also live lawsuits.

The sponsors said that if there is a positive response to the channel, they will apply for a broadcast license to the National Audiovisual Council of Romania (www.cna.ro).

Meanwhile, N24 (www.n24.ro), a TV news channel launched in 2004, has transformed into a general entertainment channel, N24 Plus, as of January 7, 2010. The channel received a satelite license from the National Audiovisual Council of Romania recently and plans to air exclusively Romanian programs.

SC Clas Media, the owner of the channel, also controls the channels Naţional TV (www.nationaltv.ro), Favorit TV (www.favorittv.ro), and Transilvania TV (www.tvtransilvania.ro), and two radio stations.
