Slovenia's Iskratel signs Ukraine deal

    Leading Slovenian telecommunications supply company Iskratel announced it has been contracted to provide broadband access in the Ukraine.

    Iskratel (www.iskratel.com ) is to provide ADSL2+ broadband coverage to 25 towns and over 650 sites for the Ukrainian national telecom company Ukrtelekom.

    Ukrtelekom's IPTV service offers 26 TV channels, with plans to expand to 100 channels. Iskratel will open 100,000 ports within the next two month.

    Iskratel is headquartered in Ljubljana and has representative offices in Belarus, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Russia, and the Ukraine,
