Adana Gold Boll FF: Simurgh

    Simurgh, a docu-drama produced and directed by Ruhi Karadag, has its world premiere in the Turkish national competition section of the Adana Golden Boll Film Festival (17-25 September 2011, www.goldenbollfilmfestival.com).

    {mosimage}Simurgh is the story of six real characters (political prisoners) who participated in death fasts in order to protest the F-type cell system in 1996 in prisons of Turkey. After 69 days on their death fast, they came down with the illness known as Wernicke Korsakoff.

    The film is produced by Simurg Film Yapim (www.simurgyapim.com) which is a six-year-old year company founded by the director.

    Karadag who is known for his commercials and for his documentaries in the field.
