BIAFF Film festival closing ceremony took place on 22 September, at Batumi State Musical Center. International Jury awarded prizes in three-competition section – International Feature Films, Doc Films and Short Films section.
BIAFF industry platform “Alternative Wave” awarded prizes for three projects:
- Wroclaw Audio-Visual Center (CeTA) – 10,000 EUR equivalent production services was awarded to film project “Orange Sky” (Georgia), Director, producer: Shalva Shengeli; Writers: Shalva Shengeli, Alexander Kurkhuli
- Istanbul Film Festival’s industry platform “Meeting on the Bridge” – participation in “Meeting on the Bridge” 2020 for film project – “You Look Like Your Father” (Georgia), Director: Levan Lomjaria, Producer: Vako Kirkitadze
- BIAFF prize – participation at BERLINALE film festival industry platform for film project – “The Load” (Georgia), Director, producer: Ana Iosava; Writers: Ana Iosava, Otar Katamadze

- Jury Special Mentions - “Watermelon Juice”, Irene Moray, Spain, 2019 and “Hope”, Aleksandra Markova, Belarus, 2019
BIAFF 2019 Georgia Film Critics Jury consisting of - Lela Ochiauri (Chairwoman), Salome Kikaleishvili, Nino Mkheidze - revealed the choice for best film by film critics:

BELGADE: The White Crow by Ralph Fiennes, which is a coproduction between the UK, France and Serbia, has been added to the 2019 EFA Feature Film Selection list. The list comprises films recommended for a nomination for the European Film Awards 2019.
Czech Republic Announces Documentary and Animated Film Production Grants - September 2019
Czech Republic 23-09-2019The Czech Film Fund announced the following grants on 23 September 2019.
ZAGREB: German sales agent Beta Film has acquired the six-hour TV series Amnesia, currently in development, directed by Goran Gajić and produced by the Croatian company Drugi Plan.
SOFIA: MediaMation Inc. has signed an agreement with Kino Arena to open four MX4D auditoriums in Bulgaria. The first one will open in Sofia in the autumn of 2019.
BUCHAREST: Polish director Agnieszka Holland was elected Honourary President of the Federation of European Film and TV Directors (FERA) at its annual General Assembly attended by members from 27 countries and hosted by Dacin Sara in Bucharest from 20 to 22 September 2019.
STRONGER TOGETHER: that was the key message which emerged from the discussion of FERA’s General Assembly meeting in Bucharest, Romania on September 20 to 22.
ULCINJ: The Delegation by Albanian director Bujar Alimani was awarded best feature film at the 5th edition of the Seanema Film Festival, which wrapped in Ulcinj, Montenegro, on 22 September 2019.
