VALLETTA: In what is turning into a record-breaking year for film production in Malta, the Malta Film Commission has announced the fifth foreign film to shoot in the island nation in 2016. 

PULA: The High Sunwon the best film award and the best director award for Dalibor Matanić at the 62nd Pula Film Festival which concluded on 25 July 2016.

Vitaly Mansky’s documentary Close Relations is set for a December 2015 release.

PRAGUE: The Czech Union of Film Distributors announced that box office for the first half of 2015 reached a 15-year high, rising by 19 percent compared with the same period in 2014. 

PRAGUE: The Czech drama Home Care (Domácí péče) landed in sixth place in the Czech box office on its opening week-end, one of three Czech films holding spots in the top ten for the week-end of 16-19 July 2015, and Helena Trestikova’s award-winning documentary Mallory made an impressive debut in 20th place. 

PRAGUE: The film score for the new Quentin Tarrantino film Hateful Eight has been recorded in Prague.

VILNIUS: The Lithuanian Film Centre has distributed 382 568 EUR to 14 projects in the film development grants session for 2015.
