WARSAW: Andrzej Wajda’s newest production topped the list of films receiving funding in the third round of grants from the Polish Film Institute.
The East Doc platform is accepting submissions for its March 2016 event through 1 December 2015.
BUDAPEST: Hungarian media sources report that Andy Vajna, Hungarian film commissioner, has purchased commercial channel TV2.
ZAGREB: German company Constantin Television is shooting a Croatian detective series in Split for German public broadcaster ARD. A total of 45 days of shooting is scheduled to conclude on 13 November 2015.
WARSAW: Nine screenings of new Polish films and ten works-in-progress from across CEE and Russia will be presented at the 11th CentEast Market running 16-18 October 2015 in Warsaw. Some 250 participants are expected to attend.
COTTBUS: The 17th edition of the East-West coproduction market Connecting Cottbus cast a wide net in selecting its ten feature films pitches under new director Rebekka Garrido. Participants hail from territories as diverse as The Netherlands, this year’s guest country, to Israel and Cyprus. The forum, known as coco, takes place 5-6 November 2015.
JIHLAVA: The 19th Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival will screen 233 films during the festival which runs 27 October – 1 November 2015.
WARSAW: US based Scripps Networks Interactive will invest USD 1 m in original web content for Polish private broadcaster TVN.
