The International Co-Production Forum Regiofund will be held in Katowice from October 4th through 7th, culminating in a pitching session. Call for Projects was extended until August 22nd!

The Forum’s main event is a pitching session for European film projects, as well as one-to-one meetings with industry professionals. The organizers await ambitious projects at advanced development stage (with script already available), and with an international co-production potential. The best pitch will be awarded 6,000 PLN (approx. 1,400 EUR). 

The submission deadline is August 22nd. To submit a project you have to fill in the form which you can find at www.forumregiofund.pl/en. Registration is free of charge.

Many internationally acclaimed projects were developed during the previous editions of the event, among them Loving Vincent, Wooma, and Kajtek Czarodziej. The event was also attended by a few dozen representatives of European regional funds, including most of Polish ones, as well as members of national film institutions from Poland, Lithuania, Estonia and other countries, television broadcasters (TVN, HBO, YLE), and a number of sales agents, distributors and producers.

This year’s Regiofund Forum will be held in Katowice from October 4th through 7th. Its organizer, Silesia Film, is a cultural institution of the Silesian voivodeship which has been also successfully running Silesia Film Commission and Silesian Film Fund for the last couple of years.

Martin Tokár is developing Yours Sincerely, Social System, an absurd comedy and social documentary about Yves Nicolas Ogou, who originally comes from Benin, Africa, but has lived and worked in eastern Slovakia for almost 25 years.

CRAIOVA: The 8th edition of Divan Film Festival, an unusual festival of good Balkan films and good food, is focused this year on the Balkan love. The festival takes place in the Romanian city of Craiova and in Port Cultural Cetate from 18 to 26 August 2017.

KATOWICE: The deadline for submissions to the International Co-Production Forum Regiofund is fast approaching. You can submit your film up until 14 August 2017.

The International Co-Production Forum Regiofund will be held in Katowice from October 4th through 7th. The event draws from the experiences and established practices of Regiofun Festival, but at the same time assumes more industry-driven formula. You can submit your film only until August 14th.

SARAJEVO: The third and final 2017 workshop for MIDPOINT TV Launch will take place during CineLink Industry Days, the industry platform of Sarajevo Film Festival (11-18 August 2017).

The third and final workshop of this year's MIDPOINT TV Launch is just around the corner. On August 12 – 16, the seven TV drama projects will meet again at the third residential workshop which takes place in collaboration with CineLink Industry Days during Sarajevo Film Festival.

ARAD: Wild Berries by Romulus Balazs (France) Marianna Vas (Hungary) and Hedda Bednarszky (Romania) is the winner of the 12th edition of Aristoteles Workshop, the one-month documentary workshop that took place in Bata, Arad county, from 3 July to 5 August 2017.

XII Batumi International Art-house Film Festival will be held in Batumi during September 17-24 September, 2017, closed film submission on 1 August.  Festival organizer – “Batumi Art-house ARGANI”, official partner – Batumi City Hall.

BIAFF festival management finalized the submissions to festival.  The complete program will be announced by 1 September, 2017.  Starting from the middle of August, BIAFF management will periodically announce the films of various sections of program. 

Festival will be opened on 17 September, at Batumi State Musical Center.  The honorary guest of opening ceremony is famous Georgian composer (author of music of many Georgian films) – Gia Kancheli, who will be awarded with BIAFF special prize – for contribution to world cinema.

BIAFF festival program - consists of following sections:   International Competition (Feature, Doc, Shorts), Master Collection, Georgian Panorama, Retrospectives, EFA (European  Film Academy) collection of  Best European Short Films.

During  BIAFF 2017,  in different sections will be presented around 40 full length feature and Doc films and 40 shorts films from around 30 countries.

Master classes – part of festival program are workshops and master classes organized by festival guests (film makers, producers, actors etc.).

The festival's Best Film Award was presented to Agnieszka Holland's gripping crime thriller Spoor / Pokot. The subversive Polish masterpiece was previously selected to compete for the Golden Bear at the 67th Berlin International Film Festival and won that festival's Alfred Bauer Prize.
