Two Romanian coproductions, one Lithuanian film, one Latvian film, and one Polish coproduction were among the 21 European films to receive funding at the latest round of Eurimages which concluded on 21 June.

Please note that the deadline for feature film submissions is 30th June 2013. That’s in 5 days. Late entries will be accepted subject to a fee. If you have already submitted your film please make sure that a DVD screener reaches us as soon as possible. Deadlines for other categories vary.

PRAGUE: Time Warner has received approval from the European Commission to exercise voting rights in Central European Media Enterprises (CME) proportionate to its 49.9 stake in the Central European broadcasting company. 

Prague, June 18 2013 – After the successful launch of Pitch & Feedback at Karlovy Vary IFF in 2012, this year´s presentations of projects in development with a potential for international co-productions will take place on 2 July, between 10 am and 1 pm in the Becher’s Villa, Krále Jiřího 9, Karlovy Vary. Altogether seven projects from Czech Republic and Slovakia will receive professional feedback by experts from the international film industry. The goal is to create an effective platform for the selected projects and to enhance networking possibilities between the Czech and Slovak filmmakers and the international film industry attending Karlovy Vary IFF.

BUDAPEST: The Hungarian Film Fund has announced the third round of grants in less than a week, with the largest grant, 900 m HUF, going to Gyorgy Palfi’s Toldi.

As he prepares for the launch of the 48th edition of Karlovy Vary International Film Festival artistic director Karel Och took time out to speak with FNE.
