The EAVE 2010 European Producers Workshop comes to a close with its third and last workshop in Belgrade, Serbia (October 18-25), organized in partnership with Motion Picture Company Art & Popcorn.

During this final workshop, the 50 participants from 28 countries will have the opportunity to meet 74 high-profile European film industry professionals in pre-scheduled one-to-one meetings in order to pitch the 30 projects that have been developed during this year's EAVE training cycle.

In addition to the 30 projects developed during the year at EAVE, 6 projects from Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Serbia and Ukraine will be presented in Belgrade to the EAVE decision makers in one-to-one meetings and in a public pitch. These were selected in a special B2B - Belgrade coproduction market held in the frame of EAVE Workshop.

The 7th East Silver Market takes place October 25 - 31, 2010 at 14th International Documentary Film Festival Jihlava, 2010.

During the past years, East Silver has become the biggest database of creative and TV documentary films from Central and Eastern Europe. East Silver Market and industry program at Jihlava IDFF serve as a meeting point for key industry professionals. At East Silver Market 2010, more than 200 industry guests will have access to digitized video library with 308 documentary films produced in 2009/2010 (selected from more than 740 submitted films) and another 100 titles from the festival programme. Best films of the East Silver market 2010 will be awarded by international jury the Silver Eye Award which includes prize money (EUR 1 500), distribution support and festival service. Total of 33 films will compete in 3 categories (short, mid-length, feature).

Silver Eye winners will be announced at the 7th East Silver Market during the Opening ceremony of the XIV. Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival in October 26, 2010.

Industry programme

In addition to the market East Silver forms industry section of the festival together with the Institute of Documentary Film.

One of the programme events for filmmakers are co-production meetings in form of thematically oriented days focused on certain countries. Guests from Austria, Poland and Slovakia will discuss co-production possibilities and situation of documentary film in their countries. Every day will consist of informal co-production breakfast and series of lectures and case studies given by producers, sales agents and funding representatives.

Part of the programme is open also for festival visitors. In relation to thematically oriented days, four well-known documentary filmmakers will host special inspiring sessions: Nikolaus Geyerhalter and Michael Glawogger (Austria), Paweł Łoziński (Poland) and Pavel Kostomarov (Russia).

The movie ''Hair'' continues its successful route in film festivals throughout the world. ''Hair''- directed by Tayfun Pirselimoglou and co-producted by the director, the production company GRAAL and the Greek producer Nikos Moustakas- received in Antalya' s recent film festival the award for best photography.

has honored the former Polish President Lech Walesa, giving him an exclusive edition of films collection
of the greatest Polish directors released by Kino Polska Television Publishing House.

Collector's edition prepared by Kino Polska Television Publishing House was given to Lech Walesa in recognition of his merits for the creation of democracy in Poland.
Former President thanked Kino Polska Television for the gift. Among the exclusive editions handed to the President

Following the showcase at the Berlin International Film Festival, the selected three emerging actors will present their recent films at Italy's glittering cinematographic feast. The Italian SHOOTING STAR Michele Riondino will be seen in Ten Winters by Valerio Mieli, Zrinka Cvitesić from Croatia will be in Rome with her film On The Path by Jasmila Zbanić and Pihla Viitala from Finland will be attending with Bad Family by Aleksi Salmenperä. The presentation of SHOOTING STARS in Rome is being supported financially by the MEDIA Programme of the EU. "We believe in the future of emerging actors. That's why Rome opens a big window onto bright new hopes each year", says Roberto Cicutto, director of The Business Street at the International Rome Film Festival.

EDN Online Pitching call for art documentary projects
EDN - European Documentary Network is calling for art documentary projects for their second EDN Online Pitching Session happening on December 9, 2010. This new thematic pitching format is based on an online video-conference, where three documentary projects are introduced. Deadline is November 11, 2010.

After the local success of the documentaries in the Czech Republic, Poland and Hungary, through cinema distribution and screenings at festivals in Karlovy Vary and Krakow, these original production documentaries will be presented at the 14th annual edition of the International Documentary Film Festival in Jihlava. All the films from HBO Czech Republic were produced for the HBO documentary series BEZ CENZURY (Without Censorship).

JUST FILM (CHILDREN'S AND YOUTH FILM FESTIVAL) TO HOLD ESTONIAN PREMIERE OF HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS (Part 1)

Under the auspices of this year's Rio de Janeiro International Film Festival producers were invited to the 2nd Latin American-European Coproduction Workshop from October 2-5, organized by the Media Business School - Spain, the Festival do Rio, and the Brazilian Ministry of Culture.

Tales from Kars is a portmanteau of the five winning short stories in a script competition held as part of the 2007 Festival on Wheels and spearheaded by the Ankara Cinema Association and former mayor of Kars, Naif Alibeyoğlu. With all five shorts shot in Kars, the ensemble was wrapped with post-production support from the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism and has since received invitations from numerous international festivals. The shorts were directed by Özcan Alper, Ülkü Oktay, Ahu Öztürk, Zehra Derya Koç and Emre Akay, who have been instrumental in introducing Kars, one of the farthest flung corners of Turkey, to the rest of the world.
