The 18th edition of Black Nights Film Festival will set focus on the Polish cinema from 14th to 30th November 2014. Nearly two dozens of films by Polish authors will be presented to film fans in Estonia, among them the opening film of the festival, “Warsaw 1944” by Jan Komasa.

The European Film Academy congratulates the nominees for the EUROPEAN DISCOVERY 2014 – Prix FIPRESCI, an award presented annually as part of the European Film Awards to a young and upcoming director for a first full-length feature film.

SIBIU: Director Sergei Loznitsa received the Trophy for Best Film for his full-length documentary Maidan at the 21st ASTRA Film Festival which wrapped 11 October.

The successful producer and Holocaust survivor Branko Lustig was rewarded with the „Goldener Rathausmann“ by the Mayor of the City of Vienna on October 7th.

A total of 15 documentaries that will be presented within the official programme of the 57th DOK.Leipzig, the biggest documentary and animation event in Germany, were developed under or otherwise supported by IDF’s activities (Ex Oriente Film, Doc Launch, East Silver or Project Market) and five of them will compete for the prizes in four categories.

WARSAW: The 10th edition of CentEast Market Warsaw will present works-in-progress from Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia as part of the 30th Warsaw Film Festival from 17 to 19 October 2014.

VIENNA: Famous Croatian producer and Holocaust survivor Branko Lustig received the Goldener Rathausmann from the Mayor of the City of Vienna on 7 October. Lustig is in Vienna as a guest of the LET'S CEE Film Festival which is showing 91 productions from Central and Eastern Europe from 2 to 11 October 2014.
