Romania 17-08-2018BUCHAREST: Radu Jude’s I Do Not Care If We Go Down in History as Barbarians has been sold by Beta Cinema to Poland, Hungary and ex-Yugoslavia. The film won the Crystal Globe for best film at the 53rd Karlovy Vary IFF and is Romania’s bid for the Oscars.
BUCHAREST: Iura Luncaşu is currently shooting Do It or Shut Up/Faci sau taci, a comedy he is also producing. His previous comedy Ghinionistul, was the Romanian film with the best box office in 2017 (223,840 EUR / 1,007,284 RON gross). Former artistic gymnast and double Olympic champion Sandra Izbaşa is making her first steps in cinema.
BUCHAREST: Lucian Pintilie Film Fund, the first project initiated by the newly established Fundația9, aims at honouring the memory of the great Romanian director as well as encouraging art house cinema made by new directors.
